Mundra Timber Industrial Park

Our proposed Industrial Park in Mundra, will catalyse the promotion of a world class timber industry which will help the infrastructure development of India, encourage the use of sustainably produced, environment friendly, plantation derived, forestry products sourced primarily from New Zealand. Being a Port-based Industrial Park, coupled with efficient rail-linked nationwide distribution system, it will be cost effective and have low carbon footprint.

India's First World Class Timber Industrial Park

The Mundra Timber Industrial Park is the world’s first, port-side wood products manufacturing hub – incorporating 1000 acres of leading-edge, technology driven manufacturing companies. The MTIP will accelerate the introduction of wood-based technologies, providing solutions for low-cost urban housing within India, as well as innovative consumer products, built from sustainably sourced wood.

PHASE I

The Mundra Timber Industrial Park covers a 1000 acre area, being built in two phases:

  • Phase 1 is a 123.3 acre infrastructure development – due to be completed during during 2021.
  • Phase 1 MTIP tenants will include products manufacturers, services, distribution & logistics companies.
  • First Phase 1 installation is a 50,000m3 per month CLT plant.
  • Phase 1 has a three years projected timeline 2020 to 2023.

PHASE II

Phase 2 Timber Industrial Park tenants will be a combination of timber-based manufacturing, commercial and residential areas;

  • Unitisation of land for multiple occupancy types – industrial, commercial, residential and infrastructure.
  • The CLT plant will build commercial and residential zones for MTIP employees.
  • The CLT plant will manufacture thousands of affordable housing units.
  • Furniture Manufacturers to expand the “Make in India” initiative
  • Door Manufacturers, Packaging and Pallet Production, Wood Panel Manufacturing.

Zindia are partnering with Adani Group, the owners and developers of Mundra Port, which  is India’s largest privately owned port located 60 km west of Gandhidham in the Kutch district of Gujarat.
  • It is the fastest developing port in India

Mundra’s Special Economic Zone is India’s first port-based multi-product SEZ. Kutch in Gujarat is the only notified Imported Timber Conversion Zone in India.

With more than 2000 timber saw millers operating in Kutch – Zindia’s MTIP has a compelling incentive for wood-based industries to relocate to this district.

Mundra Port has secure local energy access through providing port handling facilities for the Adani/Tata thermal projects totalling 9000 Mw.

Located on the northern coast of the Gulf of Kutch on the west coast of India, Mundra Port provides a convenient international trade gateway to Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East.

It is on target to be largest port in India and one of the largest on the planet for bulk products by the end of 2020.

Mundra port is ideally situated to service the huge hinterland of northern and northwest India, which account for two-thirds of India’s GDP.

It has unmatched connectivity via rail, road, air and pipeline.

It has considerable distance advantage over other ports to most destinations in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir.

CONSUMER OPPORTUNITIES

An example of the benefits of the MTIP will be the ease of supplying new “Bricks and Mortar” high value retailers in India.

IKEA is prime partner – as each store will offer job opportunities to about 2,500 people, and with this stronger presence in India, IKEA is planning to source even more products from India, helping the local economy even more.

IKEA aims to open at least 24 other stores in the coming ten years.
